We were so excited to welcome long term friends Basqueland to Springwell for a collab and to pour at Springwell Sessions: April 2023. They've been delivering delicious IPAs and Barrel Aged stouts from the Basque Country since 2015 and it was a pleasure to concoct this recipe with them. This unctuous Oat Cream IPA starts with a grist of 65:35, between oats and barley, providing a super soft body to boost the flavours of Idaho 7, Moteuka and Citra. We added Idaho 7 to the whirlpool, to elevate tropical aromas of papaya, mango, and pink grapefruit, whilst the dry hop additions of all three turn those flavours up to 11 and add notes of lime, basil and cantaloupe melon. We added in a little lactose, to balance the flavours and bring that soft sweetness of Oat Cream to this beautiful IPA.
