SUNDERLAND CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL

Our friends at Vaux recently invited us to attend the first ever Sunderland Craft Beer Festival, held at the spectacularly refurbished Fire Station venue. Alongside pouring some of their own excellent beers, Vaux invited a host of some of the region’s best craft breweries to present their latest offerings, including Full Circle, Wylam and Rigg & Furrow.

A great line-up of DJs across all 3 sessions kept the party atmosphere going on Friday and Saturday, even after the heavens opened with a torrential downpour!

Appetite for craft beer is clearly booming in the North East with quite a few breweries selling through their supplies by the end of the Saturday night session. We poured:

• North x Loughran – 6% DDH IPA
• Running In Pairs – 4.4% Session IPA
• North x Paria – 6% Hazy Pale
• Futura – 5% Italian Pils
• TFG – 4.5% Triple Fruited Gose with Mango, Pineapple + Lime
• Summer Piñata – 4.5% Strawberry + Lychee Pale Ale
