How did you come to work for North?
I guess it was from working in beverages industry for 10 years, I had my first bar job at 18, but more recently I was working at Bundobust and also part time at Northern monk learning the ropes of what it is to work in a brewery. I’ve always gravitated towards beer so when a job came up at North for a brewery assistant, I applied and now I’m here performing cellaring duties!
What was your first memorable beer experience?
I would say Duvel , my dad used to try and get me into ale, he’d share a beer with me every so often and when he gave me that to try it opened my eyes to a whole other realm of beer aside from traditional English styles. After that I was completely sold on Belgian beer, I’ve been in love ever since.
What have you been listening to at work?
Electric Wizzard, non stop. They’re one of my favourite bands, I like them a lot.
Where is your favourite spot for a drink?
I’ve been to a Kirkstall Valley nature reserve a few times recently, it’s nice to take a picnic and take special bottle of beer and enjoy them in the sun. As for places in town, I really like The Angel, controversial choice but it takes some beating.
