How did you come to work at North?
Having finished uni, and being unsure about what to do next, I started working in Alfred Bar in Meanwood. Here I developed an interest in the world of beer and wanted to get more involved in the brewery side of things rather than bars. I was lucky enough to get a job as a drayman at Kirkstall Brewery and then a year later, in 2017, North we’re hiring a driver/brewery assistant and it seemed the next obvious step. And, here I am 3 years later!
What is your favourite North Beer?
I actually loved the grapefruit and wormwood sour collab we did recently with Square Root. Super refreshing and something very unusual to everything else that we do. The soda they made with it really made dry January a lot easier too.
What was your first memorable beer experience?
Currently putting a lot of Baxter Dury and Julia Jacklin on but we love a good loud metal sesh at the brewery too. I say we, Seb definitely doesn’t enjoy it…
What are you enjoying listening to at work at the moment?
Does nicking tinnies of Tetley’s from my dads shed count?!? Will always remember trying Duchesse de Bourgogne for the first time too.
Where is your favourite place to drink?
IMPOSSIBLE question to answer! – but I’ll give it a go. In Leeds it has to be Whitelocks Ale House, great beer, great food and amazing historical pub. Outside of Leeds, Barton Inn in Somerset, guaranteed to go there every time I go home!
